There was also the Arthrolycosa, an early ancestor of the Black Widow. It was between five to seven feet in length, could have been up to eighty pounds, and lived in the mid Devaronian period, around 270 million years ago. So, creatures like that are definitely physiologically feasible.

There actually have been species of giant arthropods that existed prehistorically, including spiders. One of the most notable examples I can recall reading about is Mesothelia, which was a tarantula about the size of a small-to-medium-size dog, which lived during the late Carboniferous Era, between 300-350 million years ago. I estimate it could have been around a foot-and-a-half to two feet in length, and weighed between 15-25 pounds.
